President DROUPADI MURMU inspects the Guard of Honour

Droupadi Murmu has become the first President of India born in independent India.After taking oath as the 15th President of India in the Parliament, Droupadi Murmu on Monday proudly said that she is the first President of the country who was born in independent India. Murmu was born on June 20, 1958 in Odisha.

 

Droupadi Murmu is an Indian politician serving as the 15th and current President of India since 25July 2022. She is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. She is the first person belonging to the Santal, scheduled tribe community to be elected as the President of India.
